The author was born in March 1981 in Wernigerode in the former GDR. He achieved his Abitur with honors in 1999 and received his Diplom / Master Degree in Computer Science in 2006. He is married to Maria Patrunky. During his studies he got thoroughly involved in data mining, including, but not limited to:
- neural networks, SOMs, GSOMs, in an internship at the University of Melbourne, Australia,
- association rules, during a placement at BT ISRC research labs, UK.
Since October 2006 he is research assistant at the computational intelligence group at the school of computer science at the Otto-von-Guericke-University of Magdeburg. His interests are focused on data mining and computational intelligence, especially on the application side. He is furthermore interested in data mining with regard to renewable energies and related topics. The author is member of GI and IEEE, promoting scientific accomplishments throughout Germany and worldwide, respectively.
